The Walking Dead- ‘Claimed’ (season 4; episode 11)

I dunno, seems like WD is moving very, verrry slooowly so far this mid-season.
there’s been a lot of meandering around, walking down tracks, standing/lying/more walking looking pensive.
It almost seems like filler, like because they have already moved ahead and is almost
caught up to the comic, they are holding back.  eh, maybe it’s just my lack of patience.
SPOILER ALERT! can you hear the warning sirens going off?
Anyway, according to Michael Cudlitz, the actor that is portraying Sgt. Abraham Ford, they are going to keep his character pretty much the same as in the comic.
This being said NOW REALLY, REALLY, DON’T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE COMIC! Eugene, claims to be a *cough* ‘scientist’ and is trying to get to Washington, DC because he claims he has information/knowledge on ‘what caused the outbreak, and how to save humanity’ (and no,i will not even comment on his mullet). Of course, we, who have read the comic, know he is merely a HS Science teacher and just wants someone to protect him from zombies.
After giving it some thought, anyone can actually say they are in whatever profession they like, and without credentials, how would one know?
‘Yes, I am a surgeon, I’ve done many Operations so, step aside and let me handle this.’
‘But doctor, that isn’t where the appendix is located!?!’
‘Well, how am I to know, I didn’t hear a bzzzt, and his nose didn’t light up when I touched the sides of the incision!’

Afterthought- I will say, I liked Michonne in the comic, but I like the portrayal of her character even more so in the television adaptation, as she is opening up and showing a side she may have kept buried after the death of those she loved and was on her own for so long.
Oh, and has anyone noticed, it seemed Abraham’s hair colour changed? Like maybe it’s a rinse and some washed out during a different take?

Hahaha, “his nose didn’t light up”, very amusing.

I watched Talking Dead afterwards and they had on the actor who’s playing Abraham. Yeah, okay I get it – Abraham is supposed to be a bad*ss, but to be honest, I didn’t see it. Maybe things will change in later episodes but at this point he came across as a bit of a delusional goof.

As for Eugene being a scientist who’s going to save the world, yeah right, he seems more like rain man, but with a mullet.

It wasn’t easy, but I managed to avoid your spoiler stuff, stop it already with the comparison to the comics. If what I hear is true, that the most popular character in the show – Daryl, isn’t even in the comics, then the source material isn’t reliable as an indicator of where the show is headed.

We’re only two episodes into in the 2nd half, how much quicker do you want them to move? The bit with Rick under the bed with the marauders was excellent! But it took half the show to build the proper level of tension. Patience grasshopper, patience.

Yeah, I noticed the prop malfunction with Abraham’s hair as well, but hey, it’s probably not easy finding hair dye after the apocalypse . . .

Oh, and I almost forgot – I didn’t realize Lara Croft would be joining the show! How excellent!

Well duh, what’s the point of surviving the apocalypse if you don’t at least look good . . .

I was considerably annoyed by that. Oh, here’s a new female character. Yes, of course she’s half naked, although it’s completely illogical. It distracted me for a good five minutes until the missus kindly asked me to shut up.

Finally watched that episode of Tonight Show with Norman Reedus on Tivo, he comes across as a genuinely nice guy . . . who kills zombies on TV.

Speaking of which, playing catch up with my Walking Dead viewing, just watched episode “Still.” Seriously, I liked the show, but what the heck was with Beth’s sudden need for a ‘drink’? Seemed a bit incongruous with how her character has been portrayed up till now. Again, not complaining but for me the coolest part of the whole episode was the hiding in the trunk bit in the very beginning.

And just between us, how do you even get your fingers to do that? Strangest one finger salute ever . . .

. . . also, my heartfelt thanks to the writers for resisting the urge to hook Daryl and Beth up. Seriously thought that was what was coming.

Last comment of the night – anyone else watching the Talking Dead? Mindy Kaling, you might be a lovely person and a very funny comedian but wow, you sucked rocks as a Talking Dead guest. Just saying . . .
