Watched the ‘Weight of One Man’s Heart’ episode of Ripper Street and was thoroughly enthralled. The development of Sergeant Bennett Drake’s character made for compelling viewing. The character reminds me of Sgt. Ronald Greer’s character from SGU, another troubled, tough antihero who ends up stealing the show.

Excellent dialogue this episode as well. Particularly from Colonel Madoc Faulkner’s character (Iain Glen), who brutally questions the treatment of returning soldiers. A question that is just as relevant in this day and age.

I credit Toby Finlay with the excellent writing. This is apparent the first of two episodes he’s written thus far for the show. I look forward to his next episode.
