Okay, by way of topic introduction, ten years after the original airing of the ‘new’ Battlestar Galactica, started watching the series again from the beginning. Have gotten to episode 8 and the first thing that really hits you is how fresh the show still looks a decade after its debut. The second thought that surfaces is why oh why did they cancel such a well made show after such a short run?

Countdown to a Battlestar Reboot?

    I have a confession to make in reference to my last post. I started watching BSG again because in all honesty, I never finished it. I was so disgusted after the Reaching Earth and ‘everybody loves everybody now because they’re all really Cylons anyway’ episode that I turned it off and never turned it back on.
    Confession number two, I actually, actively disliked Ron Moore for the longest time. I was convinced that he single handedly drove the Star Trek franchise into the ground. BSG kind of changed my opinion of him . . . but only slightly. If there is to be a ‘BSG Reboot’ will it involve Ron Moore?
    So I greet the idea of a BSG Reboot with nervous anticipation. If it’s a revisit of the New Caprica years I would be seriously disappointed. The New Caprica story arc was depressing as hell and if that’s their great idea for a BSG reboot, well, it’s going to die a death just like the show Caprica did.
    Did I mention, I blame Ron Moore?
